Kashan

25th and 26th of February

When we arrived in Kashan we went from the bus place to our hotel, Ehsan House, by taxi.  It is a traditional house that has been converted into a hotel. It had a large submerged central courtyard, with rooms all around the courtyard. The courtyard is several metres below street level. This would make it easier to withstand the summer heat. It had a tight road leading up to it. When we went inside, there was all the flags of the world down the corridor. We went into the lobby and it was quite warm in there. Luckily there was a water chiller. They said our room would be ready in half an hour so we went to have lunch. We had lunch at a place called Abbasi house. It had raised platforms with backrests and pillows that you sit on. They put the food in the middle and you eat it. We had chicken kebabs with rice, bread and tea.
