Yazd, Thursday 6th to Friday 7th of March
We had arranged for a taxi to Yazd, stopping of at historic sites; Persepolis and Pasargadae. We were told the taxi driver could speak good English and that we were allowed to spend as long as we want (within reason) at Persepolis. We asked him what his name was and he couldn't understand. When we got to Persepolis, we asked how long we could be at Persepolis. He said one and a half hours. It was really selfish because he was doing that to suit him not us. Persepolis was a mass of ruins and ancient structures. If you climbed the mountain you could see the tombs of the kings. I was really tired so I didn't enjoy Persepolis much. There was not enough time to see everything in Persepolis. Pasagardae was much better. Persepolis was where they went on special occasions. Pasagardae was where they lived. There were mountains everywhere around us. There was rubble and structures of columns and fortresses. We went through the mountains which were really quite pretty. We arrived at Yazd, at our hotel, Kohan traditional Hotel. it was like the other traditional hotels we stayed. Great room, great courtyard, great eating. That night we had dinner at Kohan where we saw Paul again!!! We have the same good taste in hotels.
