Kashan, Noushabad and the desert

Thursday the 27th of February

The next morning we went to the iconic Fin Garden. It was amazing with a bathhouse inside and also a whole range of gardens, fountains, and one angry caretaker. After that we went back to have lunch at Manouchehri. I had the same meal I had for dinner; chicken kebabs. We then went on our way to the desert. We went to a town called Noushabad, were they had an underground city. It was amazing. We descended stairs for fifteen metres or so and reached a warren of tunnels. People actually lived down there when they were hiding from invaders. The underground city was forgotten, but then came a man, about thirty years ago, who was digging a well in his backyard, once he got to fifteen metres deep it all fell through and he found the underground city. They had a praying room down there, even a shop.
