We came back for Lunch. It was a great traditional meal of Eshkene. It is a soup, made up of potato, tomato, poached egg and onion. In the 4WD we went over sand dunes and we made our way to where the quanat goes. What a canat is, is a system of bringing water from the mountains. The people that make these things dig underground until they find water. They then dig a tunnel from the canat towards the downhill slope. When they get a specific way along, they come back up and go to where they stopped digging. They then dig down until they find the tunnel that they dug before. They dig along the other way and repeat the same process.

We went to a place where they store the water from the canats for the animals. Massoud said that people swim in it in the summer. After that we went up a mountain valley to find the source if the canats. It was a small stream. There are apparently a lot of vipers in that area. We had to watch out for them. It was a beautiful place with lots and lots of canes (not the canes you hit naughty children with)of tall grass. After that we went to a salt lake with the most salt I've seen for a long time. It would crunch under your feet. It was fields and fields of salt, so much that it looked like snow.

After that we went back to Yazd, to a place where they had ceramics that my parents were interested in. It wasn't only for ceramics, it was for carpets too. We went up on the roof of the place, which is famous for its view of the sunset behind the mosque. Unfortunately we were too early for the sunset. The man tried to sell us some carpets. After that we went back to the hotel and had a cup of tea.
